Annual Scholarship Fund

St. Joseph’s believes in a philosophy which includes the ideal that no one who desires help is ever turned away.

To meet the needs of the men and women in this population who arrive at St. Joseph’s with the desire for sustained recovery and to lead whole, joyful lives, we provide charity care for up to a dozen residents each year.

Offering these services is the right thing to do; ensuring treatment is part of our fabric.

To assure that all who desire to live lives free of addiction receive the care they need, we ask that you consider making a gift to St. Joseph’s Scholarship Fund.

Supporting Our Family Program

St. Joseph’s recognizes the emotional, physical and financial strain addiction has on family members.

An important goal of the Family Department is to make the family sessions as productive and stress-free as possible by providing food and lodging, as well as help with travel expenses. And, we can continue to do this with your help.

Any donations you make to the Family Department will help provide these support services and more.

Please feel free to donate any amount you are comfortable with as every little bit goes along way.

Please also feel free to specify how you want your donation used.

Your donation is tax deductible.

Just a few of the ways you can help include:

  • Bus tickets for family members who cannot afford to travel

  • Scholarship money for residents who do not have insurance coverage

  • Accommodations

  • Food & Beverages

  • Providing items for a comfortable space

  • Continuing education for family members as well as family counselors

Supporting Our Veterans Residential Program

We serve Veterans from all walks of life and sadly, some come to us from less than favorable circumstances; after long-term hospitalization, incarceration, or during a period of homelessness. It’s our goal to assist these heroes in reintegrating back into society with pride and dignity. Below is a list of items that will provide comfort, safety, and a smile for those who have already given so much:

  • Toiletries (chap stick, deodorant, tooth brush, toothpaste, soap, shampoo)

  • Under garments, socks, hats, gloves

  • Sports equipment (for 2-20 players)

  • Art work (wall hangings)

  • Outdoor furniture

  • Gardening supplies

  • Local community activity involvement

  • Hershey (our therapy dog) food, medical and training funds

100% of donations to St. Joseph’s Veterans Program go directly to support the heroes in our care.

We thank you for your kindness. For questions about other opportunities for donating please contact Jeremy Baumann - jbaumann@stjoestreatment.org

St. Joseph’s Endowment

The Endowment for St. Joseph’s is an Investment in Individuals, their Families, and Our Communities

As we near a half-century of service, St. Joseph’s is preparing for a new era of health care.

While we have held fast to our traditions and proven programs, our business model, primarily how residents pay for treatment, has evolved steadily.

When the Franciscans founded St. Joseph’s, the Friars absorbed the cost of treatment as a part of their ministry.

Beginning in 1975, however, public funding from the State of New York became an important source of our revenues. Today, nearly 85% of residents’ treatment is covered by Medicaid and Medicaid Managed Care, while just three percent are able to pay for their treatment.

This analysis does not, however, include a significant population that desires treatment but earns too much to qualify for Medicaid or cannot afford insurance.

As expressed in the figures, we seek to raise an initial goal of $1,000,000 to establish a sustaining, permanent endowment to provide the gift of recovery for all who come to us for care.

Expressed in gratitude, please consider the following sentiments of a former resident,

“I am blessed, not because I woke up one day and decided to quit, I had done that many times. I am blessed because my feet landed on the most precious and sacred ground I have ever been on. I owe my life, the life of my children, and the lives of countless other people whom I certainly would have continued to hurt, to St. Joe’s.

I will never forget those brisk spring mornings, singing Amazing Grace in the chapel and knowing that it was true; that I had been found. For it is those times, and the pure gratitude for St. Joseph’s and the Friars of Atonement that keep me sober today.”

The Bequest

A Legacy Of Love

A Gift Made Possible Through Planning

  • The bequest stands apart as perhaps the single most compelling gift option because a charitable bequest designated in your will costs you nothing today, can be an extremely versatile way to give, and often represent the largest contributions a charitable organization receives.

  • Your will is the right place to begin a meaningful charitable legacy. Although there are many ways to make charitable bequests, as well as different reasons for making them, all bequests have one thing in common – they are possible only because a valid will is in place.

If you desire to support St. Joseph’s through a bequest, please meet with your attorney to ensure this most meaningful gift of love.

    Thank you
