Inpatient Addiction Treatment

Our inpatient addiction treatment program in Saranac Lake, NY is a 67-bed co-ed program that provides varying lengths of stay based on each person’s own medical necessity. We are one of the only programs in New York State to offer a treatment stay of up to 90 days.

Our evidence-based substance use disorder treatments focus on addiction, and addiction with co-occurring disorders and offer person centered treatment including, but not limited to, Medication-Assisted Treatment, and self-help meetings. We also practice a strong heritage of helping residents explore spirituality as one of the core areas of recovery.

St. Joseph’s Addiction Treatment and Recovery Centers is NYS Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) licensed, Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) accredited and is a trauma-informed community.

In 2021, we were ranked in the top 15% of addiction treatment facilities across the United States by Newsweek Magazine and we have been on the NYS list of Best Places to Work since 2012.

A Structured Program of Self-discovery & Healing

Our treatment is trauma-focused, which means that we are sensitive to the trauma that people have experienced in their lives and believe that those experiences have impacted their lives and functioning.

Individual and group counseling is provided by our New York State-licensed program which includes Licensed Mental Health Counselors, Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselors. Psychiatric services are available for those in need during their inpatient stay.

To address the variety of needs presented by our residents, we also offer specialty groups including Anger-Management, GED classes, Yoga, and women-specific programming and lectures.

“This place helped me immensely. The staff and environment was overall one of caring and people who want to genuinely help. Unlike most places, there are counselors to talk to if you need to at anytime. Some people might not realize how rare that is. This is a rehab, not a place for a vacation. They give you an individualized program and the opportunity to take the time to work on yourself. Every rehab will have a certain amount of "drama" because there are a bunch of people with addictions living together trying to learn to be clean and sober. The food was good, and we had time outside everyday. The rules are strict but fair, and they are there to benefit you in the long run.”
