Each Sunday, Inpatient residents come together in our Spirituality Center to share original poetry, readings, and songs (often composed while at St. Joseph’s) and which are focused on a topic meaningful to recovery.
As Peer Support Specialist, Craig Poindexter, shares, “Our theme today is Change. It was facilitated by Megan Glennon-Munn. Once again, Miranda B. did another awesome and original poem entitled “Change”.
Where we are at, it’s not always where will need to be.
We can change the tears, the fears, we can be happy.
We can hide the pain, dance in the rain; our hearts can beat as one.
Let the knots of our lives come undone.
Together we can change, manage the brakes, the cracks, the pain.
Would you want to walk this endless road by my side?
Take the good and the bad, the ups and the downs like a roller coaster ride.
Changes within us, we are changing our life.
Life doesn’t have to be as meaningless as the dullest knife.
We can change together, we can be better.
Knowing the bad will wash away with the stormy weather. Whether or not you are able to see, I see you and I see me.
Looking at the future, enjoying this life.
Throwing away all the pain and all the strife.
Take my hand, I will help you through.
Just tell me that it is what you want to do.
